This happens to me at least once every couple of weeks:
I open Outlook.
I see an email from flannery@(governmentinstitution).gov.
I think "Hey! I've got mail from Flan!"
I think "How did Flan get my work email?"
I remember that flannery@(governmentinstitution).gov is one of the associate editors.
I remember that the same thing happened last week.
Yeah. I'm some kind of genius.

that's gotta be WAAAAY disapointing.
That's like when I'm talking to someone who's on their cell while driving and the call drops. Then they call me back and say, "Sorry, I hit a dead spot." Then I scream, "OH NO! Call 911!"
Hee! I love it.
It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't keep hitting my head on the bowl, lemon.
I should probably not switch to my avatar with the tire tracks then...
Oh sure, Flan. You love it because you don't have to deal with the post realization let down or the vague unease that the constant surprise may be the result of some insidious and undiagnosed tumor in my Processing-Email-Addressal Lobe.
Wait, you're getting email from Flannery at the nuthouse?
It happens to me all the time.
How do you know that it isn't the same "Flan?"
Secret

They've given you a blog
And taking away your name
My new theme song!
Flan gets email at the nuthouse? Sweet! They make me turn in my laptop with my shoelaces and belt.
That's awesome, WP. I used to have the Plugz cover of that on my walkman. ...you know, back when people still had walkmen.
That's a great new theme song for Flan!
You could ask your work Flan to change names to something less confusing like crepe.
